All parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion shall be accessible for adjustment, replacement, and repair.
3.1.1 Rolls. The rolls shall be made of steel and shall be capable of forming sheet metal of the specified gage and width as shown in table I without permanent deformation of the rolls. The pinch roll shall be gear-driven on all machines. The top roll shall be gear-driven on machines using rolls larger than 1-1/2 inches and less than 3 inches in diameter. All rolls shall be gear- driven on machines using top rolls 3 inches or larger in diameter.
3.1.2 Pinch roll. The pinch roll shall be adjustable to accommodate different material thickness.
3.1.3 Rear roll. The rear roll shall be adjustable to form cylinders, alternate cylindrical and flat areas, and areas of differing radii. The rear roll shall be equipped with indicators to allow duplication of work.
